Free First Sunday Art for All
This fall you will be able to join in on the fun the art community puts on with the Free First Sunday Art for All. Every first Sunday during the fall months you will be able to join Oceanside Museum of Art to check out the different exhibits and feel inspired and creative. The event also features a hands-on art-making exhibit where you can create your own personal masterpiece. Each month features a different art type to create; the month of October will be focusing on buttons using vibrant materials and colors. Check out the Free First Sunday Art for All at the Oceanside Museum of Art every first Sunday of the month from noon to 2:00 PM.
Taste of Oceanside
When you visit Oceanside, you may notice that the area features tons of incredible restaurants, breweries, and wineries. Having a meal at every spot you see is impossible, especially for a shorter trip to the area. This fall, you can take part in the Taste of Oceanside on Saturday October 7th over in Downtown Oceanside. This events allows you to sample food from some of the best restaurants right here in Oceanside. All you have to do is purchase your ticket and show up to the participating restaurants. Participants can also upgrade their ticket to work at local wineries and breweries too. Taste Trolleys will be going on a loop through Downtown Oceanside so you can simply hop on and get off at the next stop for more delicious food. Head over to Mainstreet Oceanside to get started on October 5th. The event runs from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Barktoberfest at Arrowood Golf Course
If you are looking to take the kids to a fun-filled event that supports a great cause, head on over to Arrowood Golf Course for their Barkoberfest this fall. This family friendly event is free to attend and welcomes everyone to find their new best pup friend. In addition to the adoption drive, your family will be able to engage in face painting, enjoy live music, and the adults can grab a beer from the event partners, Coronado Brewing, Dogleg Brewing, and 805. This event has yet to announce their 2024 date but will be available before you know it. Who knows, you may even walk away with a new pup for the family!
Dia de los Muertos Festival
In Latino culture, one of the most celebrated holidays each year is Dia de los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead. This holiday is a time to celebrate life and those who are no longer with us. Oceanside hosts the annual Dia de los Muertos Festival right here in Downtown Oceanside. This will be the 23rd annual event for the festival making it one of the area’s longest standing festival. The event features a classic car show along with local food vendors, crafts for kids, live music, family entertainment, and much more. This year’s event will take place on October 27th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM all throughout Downtown Oceanside.
Halloween Spooktacular: Trunk or Treat
Making sure the young kids can still enjoy trick-or-treating around Halloween even when out of town is always important. The kids love being able to dress up in their favorite costume and collect as much tasty candy as they can get their hands on. If you happen to visit Oceanside around Halloween, you can still take the family trick-or-treating by joining the fun over at Halloween Spooktacular: Trunk or Treat. As the name suggests, it is a trunk or treat event where the kids will be walking between parked cars to get candy. The event takes place over at Mance Buchanon Park, so it can be found right here in Oceanside. In addition to trunk or treating, the kids can also enjoy craft booths, inflatables, and even children’s group games. This event has been held on the Saturday before Halloween from 2:00 to 5:00 PM so expect a similar event date.
